Story Clinic: Journalism “sense check”

“God, there is no deity except Him, the Living, the Eternal One. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belong whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows all that is before them and all that is behind them. They can encompass only that part of His knowledge which He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and their upholding does not weary Him. He is the Sublime, the Almighty One!”

We are committed to transparency and a people-powered news mobilization Network. We believe investigative journalism plays a key role in keeping faithful strong living, power accountability, and societies more just – one that is God-conscious, people-powered, and collaborative. That is why we focus on in-depth, rigorous investigations that can make a real difference on a global, national, or in our neighbor. It’s clear that we need real change to spread smiles on earth. We are under no illusions about who needs to do the work in this, though. Newsroom leaders need to commit to this change to share their power with journalists of every color. This means we all have to struggle beyond just words on a page to work directly for those who are severely affected. We aim to break new ground.

We Mobilize News. This may be provided through many different media: word of mouth, printing, postal systems, broadcasting, electronic communication, or through the testimony of observers and witnesses to events. Frankly everything – Institution of Right Belongings. We are moving next from a hijacked and ill-created-century situation where many journalists of color feel like they’re tolerated, but not welcome, to one where they know they belong.

“When you belong, you can feel it in your bones, you can feel it when you look around and see that you have the ability to influence change, help make decisions and that you are not the only one and the gaze has shifted. It’s not merely a gaze of the dominant group, but it’s a kaleidoscope of gazes.”

Our solidarity project is to work together with journalists, tech experts, community organizers, and active residents to respond to the local news crisis. That meant sharing public interest investigations, open data, and community mobilizing projects to bring accountability to our communities. Building a collaborative practice for equitable journalism and sharing resources has been vital to delivering information to communities and connecting the dots to spark local and national change. We’ve shined a light on thousands of hidden home care deaths during the pandemic and destruction age, funding crisis, and the impact on workers being paid below the minimum wage that impacts any nation. We do this by making journalism open, inclusive, and human-centered from start to finish.

Build a Real Story in Cross Newsroom

Decolonise the News – Use a structured approach to making the morning meeting more constructive and less damaging and news you can use to distribute goodness. Communities consistently tell us that they want to tell their own stories. We must focus on unleashing community power and then look to re-imagining journalism as an educated approach to get there. It is not enough to just do journalism from the ground up – we need to build newsrooms in our minds, that way too. We want to redefine journalism – who it’s owned by, made by, and who it serves. It is all about sharing right and evident news. News is a part of a bigger picture in order to reveal threats to the public interest and challenge power at the highest level. Must do this to ensure that educated journalism is useful to society, even if it is under-reported still. Report to lift off the news, that returns back to our communities to bring everyone, a new dawn.
